Who We Are

We are your neighbors, your coworkers, and your community members. As locals in the Outer Banks—many of us working in the service industry ourselves—we recognize the vital role that J-1 exchange students play in keeping our businesses running and thriving every summer. OBX ISOP was created by those who care deeply about these students, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and safe during their time here.

Our Mission

ISOP’s mission is to provide a safe and successful experience for the exchange visitors who temporarily live and work in the Outer Banks every summer. We strive to ensure that every international student and seasonal worker has access to the tools and support they need for a positive and enriching experience.

What We Do

OBX ISOP provides a range of support services, including:
✔️ Safety Resources – Distribution of bike lights, reflective gear, and other essential items.
✔️ Educational Orientations – Sessions to help students understand safety protocols and cultural opportunities in the Outer Banks.
✔️ Emergency Fund – A fund set up to assist with evacuation efforts in case of hurricanes or other natural disasters.
